A little throwback to my painting days 🎨💜

Finally got this one framed and up in our bedroom. It’s made me realise how much I miss the freedom of paint sometimes. There’s something quite magical about the way colour and brushstrokes move and build that’s so different from the slower, more precise nature of drawing (and is considerably more forgiving than ink!).

Perhaps it’s time to dust off the easel again 👀

Tilli, 2026

Pleased with this one. It's such a pleasure to see how my drawing is evolving, and how much I’m learning by giving myself room to experiment rather than trying to get everything just right from the start (NOT like me, but is it needed). I’ve been thinking about geometry, construction lines and graphic shapes alongside my crosshatching and depth of form, and I’m loving the warmth (although in some lights very cool) of this ink and the way I'm trying to break the figure into geometry. I feel like I’m finding new ways to bring together the things I’ve always loved about drawing, while trying somewhere new, and it's cool. 💚

Thanks to @draw_brighton and @tilli_sits_still 🖤

37! 🤯 Today my tendons are staging a full revolt and I’m getting through some truly horrible pain med withdrawal, so here’s me from two days ago, when I was more selfie-ready and less medical curiosity 😅 (swipe for the reality 😆)

As drawing has picked up again, I’ve been thinking a lot about how the things we make don’t exist separately from the lives we live. The last few years of loss and grief have changed my relationship with myself, with time, my identity, and what it means to feel present. Prolonged grief has changed what I pay attention to. I find myself less interested in having everything figured out, and more drawn to the small moments, the things that stay with us and the things that quietly change us. I think this is why I keep coming back to themes of memory, vulnerability and the parts of ourselves that are harder to put into words. How easily we can let all this pass us by without really seeing ourselves, or noticing the ways we’re changing.

And after all, making art is, at least in part, just a way of paying attention.

Grateful for another year of looking, learning, understanding, making, and figuring things out as I go 💛

A little life and studio update from me 🥰

We’ve moved to York! And I absolutely love it here. We’ve found such a lovely, welcoming community already and it’s really starting to feel like home. Life feels like it’s turning a corner and I am so grateful.

The house is finally almost finished being decorated, and I’m excited for my new drawing space and to get properly stuck back into drawing. I’m also really looking forward to meeting other artists in York and getting to know the local creative community.

And then there’s this little one! Meet Nini, the newest member of the household and my very enthusiastic new assistant 🐶🖋️
